Marshmallow Frankensteins

Updated: May 15

Fun, and spooky at the same time. Create these gooey colorful treats as a part of Halloween treats or a treat to light up a boring rainy afternoon. Kids will love decorating them! I found this at one of the Food channels when browsing TV.

Ingredients:

Colored Sprinkles

White Chocolate - 2 bars

Food Colors - Green, Purple, and Orange

Toothpicks or Lollipop Sticks - 10-12

Butter paper to set your marshmallows to cool

Method:

  1. On a table lay down butter paper.

  2. Using a toothpick or Lollipop sticks stick your marshmallows and keep them aside.

  3. Make your melted chocolate. I made 3 different batches. Break the chocolate and divide it to 3 bowls.

  4. Keep a large bowl of water to boil. I filled up the vessel with water to a level where the chocolate bowl can sit flat. Keep the bowl of chocolate in this vessel. In few minutes the chocolate will start to melt.

  5. Reduce the flame to avoid water from boiling over. Add your first color. Gel colors work best. Using a toothpick, stir in the color.

  6. Gently dip the marshmallow till it is fully coated in color.

  7. Dip it in a bowl of sprinkles. Kids can do this part. Set your marshmallow on the butter paper. Stick the candy eyes and leave it to dry.

  8. Repeat the steps for remaining marshmallows.

  9. In couple of hours you should have fun gooey treat that both kids and adults will equally enjoy!!

Tips:

  1. Do one color at a time.

  2. One more method to dry your marshmallows is: Make some holes in a paper plate using a toothpick or knife. Keep this plate over a vessel. You can dip the marshmallows and slowly put the toothpicks in the plate. The extra chocolate will drip to the plate.
