Celebration Cake Truffles

This treat happened by accident. Made a chocolate chip cake but the cake crumbled. This is very quick to make. Kids will have fun decorating them!


Ingredients:

Cake Pops:

Any cake will work.

Butter cream - 1/2 cup


Decorations:

White Chocolate - 1 bar

Lollipop Sticks or Toothpicks

Sprinkles


Method:

  1. Crumble your cake. It should form a soft sandy texture.

  2. Add the butter cream. Mix in the cake and butter cream.

  3. Keep this mix in the fridge for about an hour.

  4. Roll them into small cake balls. Add a toothpick or lollipop stick to each.

  5. In a vessel boil water. Cut the chocolate bar into small pieces and add them to a bowl. Keep this bowl in the water. The chocolate should start melting.

  6. Dip each cake ball in the chocolate and lay them on a parchment paper or butter paper.

  7. Add your favorite sprinkles on top. Once the chocolate completely dries, you can transfer them to individual cupcake liners.


Things to Know:

  • The mix should not be too moist, else you cannot roll them. Add butter cream 1-2 tsp at a time and keep mixing.

  • A chocolate ganache is another option to coat your cake pops. It will give a nice glaze. To make the ganache, heat up 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream in a saucepan. Add 1/2 cup of chocolate till it melts.
