Cabbage Kebabs

A crispy, healthy veggie treat to accompany your tea. Enjoy this lip smacking snack, fried or grilled, tasty alike!!


Cabbage Shredded - 1 cup

1 small Onion finely chopped - 1/2 cup

Chickpea Flour - 1/2 cup

Rice Flour - 1/ cup

Roasted Oats and Flaxseeds Powder - 1/2 cup

Spices : 1/2 tsp each

(Turmeric, Red Chilli Powder or Cayenne Pepper, Cumin Powder, Dry Mango Powder, Salt and Pepper)

Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves) - 1 tsp

Water - 2-3 tbsp


  1. Add all the dry ingredients in the bowl with the spices as shown above.

  2. Mix them to form a crumbly dough. Add water 1 tbsp at a time. Cabbage and onion, both are high in water content so this dough needs very little additional water.

  3. Roll the dough to form a cylindrical shape. Cut them into thick flat rectangular shapes.

Deep Fried Kebabs:

  • Heat a saucepan. Add about 3/4 cup oil.

  • Add the kebabs in the oil one by one. Fry in medium flame till both the sides turn brown and crispy.

Grilled Kebabs:

  • Heat a heavy bottom grill pan or griddle.

  • Add about 2-3 tbsp of Olive Oil. Add the kebabs one by one. Grill both sides till they are evenly golden brown on each side.
