A fun goofy treat that kids will enjoy eating as well as making!!
Self Rising Flour - 1/2 cup
All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
Cocoa - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup + 2 tbsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Butter - 3/4 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Melted Chocolate - 2 tbsp
M&Ms or Gems
In a large bowl melt butter. It should not be hot. Add sugar and vanilla essence.
Beat sugar and butter for 5-10 minutes till it turns a little white.
In another bowl, sift the flour and cocoa together. Make sure there are no lumps.
I keep my oven to pre-heat just before mixing the flour. Pre heat to 350 degree Fahrenheit (175 degree Centigrade) .
We have to mix in the flour mix and milk to the butter slowly. If using an electric beater, keep the speed on the lowest. Start with about 3 tbsp flour.
Now add part of the milk. Continue this till milk and flour are completely added and mixed. Make sure you start and end with the flour mix.
Add this mix to an 8 inch baking pan. Metal pans work best as they bake evenly. The batter will not be very runny. Gently spread to cover the whole pan.
Bake for 30 minutes. I usually bake for 25 minutes, then I switch off the oven and keep the pan inside for another 7 minutes before taking it out.
Take out your brownie. Cool it on a rack.
Assemble your Brownie Monsters:
It is more fun to make your kids do this.
Using a round cookie cutter or a glass with a round edge cut out brownies into circles. Place them on individual cupcake liners.
Take a butter knife. Dip it in the melted chocolate and spread it on the top part of your
brownie. Immediately add sprinkles. They will stick and form the hair for your monster.
Take a little drop of the melted chocolate and drop two circles on the brownie. Add your candy eyes.
The last step is to form a goofy smile. Spread a little chocolate below the eyes. Use a toothpick to form a smile. Add the colorful M&Ms or Gems.
You have some fun and goofy treats for the little ones to enjoy!!
