Baked Namak Para
One of the most favorite and irresistible must have snack! Healthy, buttery and quick to make!
All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
Whole Wheat Flour - 1/2 cup
Oats and Flax Seed Powder - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1 tsp
Carrom Seeds (Ajwain) - 1 tsp
Softened Unsalted Butter - 6 tbsp
Warm Water - 1/2 to 3/4 cup
Butter or Ghee to brush - 2 tbsp
Add all the dry ingredients in the order mentioned to a large bowl.
Add the butter and mix to form a crumbly texture.
Slowly add water and form a stiff dough. Cover and keep for about 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough onto a flat surface. I used my kitchen countertop. It is easy as you can roll it out to a large circle or rectangle.
Brush it nicely with butter or ghee. Using a fork poke holes in the dough to let air out.
Preheat oven to 400 degree Farenheit (205 degree Celcius).
First cut vertical strips, then cut them horizontally. They should look like diamond shapes.
Spray some oil onto a baking tray and spread it. Line each individual cut pieces on the tray.
Bake these for about 14 minutes. Turn the tray at an interval of 8 minutes and lightly brush them with some more butter or ghee.
After 14 minutes remove the tray out and leave them to cool. A yummy and healthy treat ready to much!!
